Saint Gregory - Parents

    Principal's Welcome

Principal's Welcome

Dear Friends,

Saint Gregory the Great School in Crown Heights, Brooklyn, established on September 16th, 1912, celebrated its centennial mass on September 16th, 2012 in its patronal Church. The mass marked a century of educational excellence and spiritual development to thousands of alumni. Parishioners, teachers, (present and former), alumni, students, friends, politicians, and well-wishers joined in this historic celebration. With this new century, the school has emerged as Saint Gregory the Great Catholic Academy now located at 2520 Church Avenue in the site that previously housed the school of Holy Cross parish. The new academy serves families of Central Brooklyn, in particular, students from the parishes of Holy Cross, Saint Matthew, (Saint Matthew, Saint Gregory the Great, Our Lady of Charity) and Holy Innocents..

The Academy's motto "Prepare to Be Prepared", reflects the intent of administration, the Parent Teachers' Association, families and friends. Our students are being prepared to meet the challenges - spiritual, academic, ethical, and personal that they will encounter in these times of astronomically accelerating changes.

We have entered a new era in which we must demand leadership with trust. Leadership must be fresh, open and receptive. We educate our students to think critically, and to excel across the disciplines in all walks of life. As we move to academy status, we will advance our mission, vision, values and beliefs. As principal, I intend to advance the school spiritually, academically, technologically and culturally. Today and tomorrow's students deserve the highest education possible regardless of their economic means.

A warm welcome to Saint Gregory the Great Catholic Academy.
